Joe Krause and Paul Szewczyk have known each other since 3rd grade. They usually take a long time to write an album because they're too busy eating Bean Curd with Spicy Ginger and Garlic Sauce from China King. There's no live band even though there are live instruments on the albums performed by college students duped with the promise of Chinese food. Sometimes there are temporary members of Zelda and the Unibrows, specific to the project. The name originally referred to the fictional band of "Big Fat Zelda" G. Rice, a morbidly obese fast food restaurant mogul from 7th grade cartoons. Joe has published a zine, written sketch comedy, and produced nine albums, among other recordings. He has a BA in Media from Wayne State University and a certificate from Recording Workshop in Chillicothe Ohio. Joe works in film in Detroit. Paul is a college dropout currently working as an accounting clerk in Detroit. He once tried becoming a Buddhist monk. Paul now spends his time working on his 140 year old house and eating yellow potato chips. |
